Introduction
Kilimo (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a farm management application developed by Jade Agro Solutions. This Privacy and Data Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Kilimo mobile application and related services.
Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the application.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register for an account.
- Farm data: Field locations, crop information, season records, activity logs, harvest data, and financial records you enter into the application.
- Organisation profile: Organisation name and related details you provide during onboarding.
- Communication: Messages or enquiries you send to us through contact forms or email.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage data: Features accessed, screens viewed, and actions taken within the application.
- Error logs: Crash reports and error logs to help us identify and fix issues.
Information from Third Parties
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from those providers, subject to your privacy settings with them.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and farm organisation
- Provide, operate, and improve the Kilimo application
- Sync your farm data across devices
- Send service-related communications (account confirmations, updates)
- Respond to your requests and support enquiries
- Monitor and analyse usage to improve performance and features
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraud
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for data in transit. Farm records you create are associated with your account and synchronised with our backend when an internet connection is available.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information and farm data for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Export your data in a portable format

Children’s Privacy
Kilimo is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

- Google Sign-In — for optional social authentication
- Facebook Login — for optional social authentication
- Railway / PostgreSQL — for backend data storage
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy and Data Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notification. Your continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
